Our 7 Favorite Low Carb Coffee Creamer Products

When it comes to coffee creamers, there are a few different types.

Some creamers are there just to add a little color and some are used to completely overpower the taste and flavor of the coffee. Keep this in mind as we break down the different low carb coffee creamer options out there!

Review Criteria

  • Low Carb – That means low sugar but also low in hidden carbs from thickeners and other additives. You can always add your own alternative keto-friendly sweetener, so we’re going to stay away from sugar via the creamer. This means these options are great for keto or Atkins diets.
  • Fat Content – High-fat creamers are a bonus for coffee drinkers on keto. Most creamers don’t have very much fat, so those that add fat are desirable.
  • Easy to Mix – How easy is the creamer to mix? Liquid ones mix well but because some have oil bases, you may need to blend them to get the fats to fully emulsify.
  • Wholesome ingredients – We’ll rank more wholesome ingredients more favorably than less natural sources of nutrition.

#1 Quest MCT Powder Creamer

This Quest MCT powder is the ultimate low carb coffee creamer. It uses powdered MCT oil as the first ingredient. It also has a higher percentage of C8 MCTs (read more about MCTs here). It’s very easy to mix and adds a rich taste to your coffee.

It has 7g of saturated fat from the MCT powder, which means if you’re not used to MCT or are somewhat sensitive to it, the lower fat content and powdered form should make it easier to digest.

This keto coffee creamer powder does have additives, which is what makes it so easy to mix. Here are the list of additional ingredients: Soluble Corn Fiber, Sodium Caseinate (a milk derivative), Sunflower Lecithin and Silicon Dioxide.

Mixability: Great!

#2 Left Coast Keto Coffee Creamer

This Keto Coffee Creamer from Left Coast has all the right ingredients. The main ingredient is MCT oil, followed by coconut oil and ghee. If you’ve ever made keto coffee for breakfast, this Bulletproof coffee creamer essentially takes away a few steps. Plus, you don’t have to worry about refrigerating butter.

Why is this great for as both a keto and low carb coffee creamer? There are no carbs and also 14g fat, 11g saturated.

Mixability: Blender or Frother

#3 Omega Power Creamer

The Omega PowerCreamer is very similar to the keto coffee creamer, however, it doesn’t use MCT oil as the main ingredient. Instead, it relies on ghee and coconut oil as the base.

This actually makes the taste really buttery and indulgent (and in our opinion, better), it’s just a little less keto-optimized. Both are great options but that’s the main trade-off.

Mixability: Blender or Frother

#4 Coffee Booster Creamer

If you’re looking for a plain and simple addition to your coffee, the Coffee Booster Naked flavor only has coconut oil and grass-fed ghee. Again, MCT oil is going to be more ketogenic than coconut, but this does add some coconut flavor to your drink.

#5 NutPods Dairy Free Creamer

Remember when we said that some creamers are there just to make your black coffee less black? This is one of those. Great for those looking for a low carb non dairy coffee creamer, Nutpods Creamer is made from coconut cream.

Coconut is great because it contains MCTs. However, there’s not much cream. And really, not much of anything. There are only 10 calories and 1g of fat per tablespoon. If you’re looking for a great-tasting, low carb non dairy coffee creamer that changes the color of your coffee, this is what you’ve been looking for.

Mixability: Easy. Spoon/Straw is fine.

#6 Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel Protein Mix

This option is for all your Paleo folks. While this is primarily marketed as Primal Kitchen Collagen Protein Mix, it also doubles as an all-natural low carb coffee creamer.

The collagen peptides are bolstered with a good amount of coconut milk powder that contributes to the taste, ease of mixing and fat content.

This has a really great flavor due in part to the vanilla and monk fruit extracts that are used.

Mixability: Easy. Spoon/Straw is fine.

#7 Laird Superfoods Unsweetened Coffee Creamer

The Laird in Laird Superfoods Unsweetened Coffee Creamer is from none other than Laird Hamilton, the legendary big wave surfer.

His product is tailored to the Paleo crowd, so it uses coconut as the base. The main ingredient is actually powdered coconut milk along with some calcium and coconut oil for texture.

This stuff works pretty well but doesn’t have a lot of fat. If you use a blender, it can get nice and creamy.

Mixability: Decent. Blender gives the best results though.

Tips to kick it up a notch:

Quick Side Note:

Those stainless steel Thermos bottles that say “cream” next to the coffee are almost never actually heavy whipping cream. Instead, they usually contain Half & Half, which contains high amounts of sugar and is not what we’d consider keto-friendly.

To be safe, you have to ask to see what they pour into it because most people don’t know the difference even if you simply ask.

Blender Suggested

Most of the options work best with a blender due to their fat content. If you’re not used to drinking keto or Bulletproof coffee, these may come off as a bit “greasy” for you. That’s where the blender comes in.

However, below is a Pro-Tip to address environments where blenders are not welcome.

Pro-Tip:

Using ketogenic coffee creamer at the office and don’t have access to a blender? Try a handy-dandy milk frother. The results much, much better than stirring. While it doesn’t work as well as a blender and you may have to “re-froth” once, in a while, it does the job! Plus, you don’t have to be that person who thinks it’s okay to bring a blender into work.

Is all of this too complicated? Or maybe you don’t have that much time?
