Sprinkles probably aren’t a food that you eat every day. Still, there are some desserts that are truly not complete without sprinkles.

For us low carb and keto dieters, can sugar free sprinkles be the icing on the proverbial (and literal) cake?

We live in a time where foods like keto-friendly ice cream and low carb cupcakes abound. And when you spend money on these products (or toil for hours making keto desserts), you want them to be perfect.

But, of course, making your own keto sprinkles the size of grains of rice doesn’t sound very appealing.

Fortunately for us, there are a couple of keto-centric companies that make sugar free sprinkles you can buy!

(And, by the way, they taste great!)

First up, an unexpected product from a popular brand.

Stoka Sugar Free Sprinkles

Stoka Sugar Free Sprinkles

You probably know of Stoka Nutrition from their awesome granola bars. Made of almond, they are the closest thing to Nature’s Valley Granola Bars (and are only 3g-4g net carbs per bar).

However, Stoka also makes sprinkles. It’s pretty random, but great for us nonetheless!

We love when reputable keto companies come out with new products, and this is no exception.

These no sugar sprinkles weigh in at less than 1g net carb per serving (1 teaspoon). And, unless you go completely wild with your sprinkling (we’ve been there), these carbs should add barely any effective carbs to your desserts!

Good Dee’s Keto Sprinkles

Looking at the ingredients and nutrition, you might think that Good Dee’s and Stoka were selling the exact same product. There must not be many ways to make sugar free sprinkles.

Comparing the options

Let’s quickly compare the ingredients:

Stoka

Erythritol, Soluble Corn Fiber, Palm Kernel Oil, Natural Colors

Good Dee’s

Erythritol, Soluble Corn Fiber, Palm Kernel Oil, Sunflower Lecithin, Beet Root Powder, Carnauba Wax, Gum Arabic

  • Good Dee’s sprinkles contain a few more ingredients (sunflower lecithin, carnauba wax, gum arabic) that slightly change the texture. But, at the end of the day, it’s pretty much a wash.
  • For sweetness, both contain erythritol (no maltitol) and use soluble corn fiber, an FDA-approved fiber.
    • These taste like sprinkles, which means they taste sweet. They aren’t overly sweet and don’t contain any offending added flavors. They don’t stand out on their own, and that’s exactly what you want.
  • For color, both use natural sources of color. You will see these as “natural colors” on the label, which sounds sketchy, but they actually still come from real fruits and vegetables.
  • Both contain less than 1g net carb per teaspoon serving, so there’s not any measurable carbohydrate difference between the two.
    • In practice, we expect that Good Dee’s has a slightly higher carbohydrate content due to the addition of the gum arabic/acacia gum.

When it comes down to it, these are both great keto-friendly options.

Conclusion

There aren’t that many sugar free keto sprinkles products out there. However, they DO exist, which means you don’t have to make your own.

Thankfully, there’s no need for a keto sprinkles recipe!

The big difference is that Good Dee’s sprinkles aren’t yet on Amazon (as of the time of writing). They are also almost twice the price from Good Dee’s directly.

Since both options are so similar and the price and availability of Stoka’s sprinkles are better, we currently recommend Stoka’s Sugar Free Sprinkles.

These diabetic sprinkles are great as sugar free cake decorations and are also perfect for keto-friendly ice cream (our top recommendations).
